Trout net is an excellent site for all you trout fishermen ... a must-visit site. Many other galleries and shops, including Burton Gallery and Cottage Garden Furniture are along Scenic Highway 197 ... a beautiful drive through the mountains. North 40 Lodge and the Rusty Possum Gift Shop is right across the road. Be sure to stop in and meet the new owners, Jinger and Bobby. Just a few miles away, is Alpine Helen, a unique shopping village with outlet stores and restaurants, too. www.ngeorgia.com lists many area attractions and activities. Our area is home to some spectacular waterfalls. Becky Branch Falls, Dick's Creek Falls, Martin Creek Falls, Mud Creek Falls, Minnehaha Falls (one of the most beautiful, must-see waterfalls in the north Georgia area, located just south of Lake Burton in Rabun county. This waterfall, a combination of falling and shoaling cascades, is approximately 100 feet high. The trail is a must-see as well, gently sloping through rhododendron and mountain laurel). Angel/Panther Falls, and High Shoals Falls (there are two tremendous waterfalls on the High Shoals Creek. These falls very dramatic, and a highly recommended hike. The falls are on a 170 acre scenic site and are reached by taking a 1.2 mile trail).
